A micro next to a Bike Box
Note: as off May 2017 the Bike box is no longer at this location. Although they are the green boxes painted on the road at intersections and now appear all over the City of Hamilton.
The first Bike Box in Hamilton was next to this cache location.
- The new traffic signal at the Aberdeen/Studholme intersection is now operational. We want you to be aware that there is also a new feature, called a "bike box" for cyclists on Studholme at Aberdeen.
A bike box is used at intersections to designate a space for cyclists to wait in front of cars at a red traffic signal so cyclists are more visible to car drivers. It also minimizes confusion between left-turning cyclists and right-turning vehicles.
A bike box is installed at this location because larger volumes of cyclists are anticipated when the new trail through the rail yard/across Hwy 403 is completed later this year.
- CONGRATULATIONS TO the sharps for FTF
