Geocache Description:

2nd part of a series of caches set around the footpaths and Wagonways that run behind Whitley Bay Golf Course. Linking many routes to other nearby rights of way and geocaches.

A broken railway bridge marks the route into this cache.
The bridge is part of an abandoned route that was started in the early 1900's. It was inteneded to link Seaton Sluice to Whitley Bay with the intention to turn Seaton Sluice into a holiday resort. Work stopped at the start of The Great War and the route fell into disrepair.
(This is to the best of my knowledge, please any local historians if you can enlighten me on this)

An unusual container. Please bring a biro, you will need one to log this one, but still there is space for swaps and bugs
