As I gained Ground Zero and gazed up the sheer, near vertical wall in front of me my list of rules flashed through my head, and how tired I was of following them. Even if I did write them! Not every cache has to be findable by every person. Not all hides have to be super duper fun! Sometimes caches should be available only to those cachers of superior skill and bravery. The 1st in a series appealing to those who think they meet these criteria.
Robert's Rules of Caching:
1. Everyone should have an equal chance at finding a cache.
2. Ratings should have some meaning. Terrain and Difficulty should be taken into consideration when rating the cache.
3. General safety rules should be followed,such as: DON'T PLAY IN TRAFFIC!
SMALL CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES.
BELIEVE YOUR GPS. IT IS ALWAYS CORRECT. Except when it isn't.
4. Everything the cache owner writes has some significance, even if it doesn't seem to. Ignore all the CO's ramblings at your own risk.
5. Hints should have special significance to the cache. Nonsense hints just waste time and bytes.
6. Remember to add that the cache is permitted under Permit #11-007 if the cache is located in Chugach State Park, which this one is. If somewhere else, be sure to add the correct permit number.
Because of this cache's location along a major highway it is not recommended for small children unless under immediate supervision at all times.
Suggested parking is available within a reasonable distance so please don't park along the highway.
