Have you ever driven past this 22 m high wall and wondered what it was holding back? Then come and have a look, and score an easy cache. This is the reserve that overlooks Port Macquarie's water storage dam. Another local "Bet you didn't know this was here"! There is a nice new lookout overlooking the dam, with picnic tables and a new BBQ area.
The Port Macquarie storage dam was finished construction in 1980. The dam draws water from Koree Island, which is just west of Wauchope through a 24km pipeline. It was built to supply water to Port Macquarie, The Camden Haven and Wauchope areas. The area has recently been renovated and the cache is an all new one. Most of all......enjoy.
You need to sign your geocaching name in the logbook in the cache. Otherwise it'll be deleted.
