DID YOU KNOW (DYK)?
...that this famous line from Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, is one of the most misquoted pieces of classical literature? Most people say something like, "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him well!" Or in my case, "Alas, poor Oreck..." Which is why I had to chuckle and place the cache here- as there is an Oreck vacuum cleaner shop very near GZ. And when I saw the sign my mind began to work.
The scene is set when Prince Hamlet is told by Horatio that the skeletal remains being unearthed at his feet were that of Yorick, a court jester and friend of the prince. Hamlet picks up the skull and utters the famous line:
Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio, a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath bore me on his back a thousand times, and now how abhorr'd in my imagination it is!
My gorge rises at it.
Hamlet Act 5, scene 1, 185–188

So whether you are a fan of Hamlet, or just enjoy trivia, I hope you will enjoy discovering this fun little cache.
