Geocache Description:

This multi cache is dedicated to The Big Bang Theory, the US american sitcom. As there is no TBBT cache in Aachen (let alone in Germany), we devote this cache to the fictional characters Sheldon, Leonard, Rajesh, Howard, Penny, Amy and Bernadette. It requires some knowledge of this show (or mobile Internet).

It will take you on a hiking tour of approx. 5 km length through the nature of Aachen west.

If you come by car you can park at the coordinates given below. The multi leads along and through various nature reserves, hence, it is not allowed to leave the paths. Only at the end, when you look for the last stage and the final of the multi cache (not in a nature reserve) you will have to leave the path for a few meters.

At way point 1 we will start very easy to warm up:
A = number of benches on this traffic island.

WP2: N 50° 47.47A E 006° 02.A82

While walking to way point 2, (or still sitting on one of the benches) you might enjoy this quote of TBBT:
Penny: Yes, I know men can't fly.
Sheldon: No, no let's assume that they can. Lois Lane is falling, accelerating at an initial rate of 32ft per second, per second [in SI units: 9.81m/s^2]. Superman swoops down to save her by reaching out two arms of steel. Ms. Lane, who is now traveling at approximately 120 miles per hour [in SI units: 58 m/s or 193km/h], hits them, and is immediately sliced into three. equal pieces.

Way point 2 helps you to answer the following question: where could you read the slogan "Die Sheldon Die” from a very upset former roommate?
B = 2 for on a door
B = 4 for on a window
B = 6 for on a wall
B = 8 for on a fence

WP3: N 50° 47.4(A+B)1 E 006° 02.0B(2*A)

At way point 3, you have to do some simple maths: add all black digits (i.e. discard commas and multi-digit properties) on the H-sign and calculate the check sum until you get a one-digit number. Divide this number by 2 and you have C.

WP4: N 50° 47.(C-2)88 E 006° 01.B0(C+1)

At way point 4, you can sit down and enjoy the view as well as this quote:
Leonard: You'll never guess what just happened.
Sheldon: You went out in the hallway, stumbled into an interdimensional portal, which brought you 5,000 years into the future, where you took advantage of the advanced technology to build a time machine, and now you're back, to bring us all with you to the year 7010, where we are transported to work in the Thinkatorium, by telepathically-controlled flying dolphins?
Leonard: No.
Sheldon: Awww...
Leonard: Penny kissed me.
Sheldon: Well, who would ever guess that?

Now answer the following questions:
What is Sheldon afraid of? Hint 1: The neighbours's pet chased him up the big elm tree in front of his house when he was a child. Hint 2: You can see that animal if you look around.
D = 1 for crickets
D = 3 for cats
D = 5 for birds
D = 7 for mice

WP5: N 50° 47.1(C-A)6 E 006° 01.(D+A)6B

At way point 5 you see a huge area to your right side. What kind of sports can you practise here? Hint: the model of Penny's car (the one with the blinking check engine light) is named just like that.
E = number of letters of this sport (without "ing")

WP6: N 50° 47.(E-4)(E+2)9 E 006° 02.(D-E)70

At way point 6 you can see many traffic signs. They will help you to answer the next question:
Which vehicle hurts Leonard so much that he repeats the sentence "My leg is killing me, thanks for asking" over and over again?
F = 1 for skates
F = 2 for motorbike
F = 3 for tractor
F = 4 for truck

WP7: N 50° 46.(B+C)1(B+F) E 006° 02.E3F

And another quote of TBBT:
Sheldon: You know, in difficult times like this, I often turn to a force stronger than myself.
Amy: Religion?
Sheldon: Star Trek.

At way point 7, you see a sign that forbids 2 activities. Which one is done by Howard and Rajesh in shiny clothes?
G = 1 for wrestling
G = 2 for flying a kite
G = 3 for playing soccer
G = 4 for (ice)skating

WP8: N 50° 46.(A+G)3(E+G) E 006° 02.A0C

In the vicinity of way point 8 you can see by whom Sheldon will still be loved, no matter what he does (according to Mrs Cooper). H = number of letters of that person.

WP9: N 50° 46.(H+F)(H+G)8 E 006° 02.(H+C)0(A-F)

And now the last quote of TBBT:
Sheldon: I made tea.
Leonard: I don't want tea.
Sheldon: I didn't make tea for you. This is my tea.
Leonard: Then why are you telling me?
Sheldon: It's a conversation starter.
Leonard: That's a lousy conversation starter.
Sheldon: Oh, is it? We're conversing. Checkmate.

At way point 9, you see many trees, which have a protection fence around the stem. This protection fence has a pattern that is reminiscent of a material that won the Nobel price in physics 2010. Which one?
J = 2 for the graphene layer
J = 4 for the quasi crystal pentagon layer
J = 6 for the high-temperature superconductor YBCO
J = 8 for the electronic structure of magnetic and disordered systems

Also at way point 9, you can see a literally large number.
K= check sum of the product of its digits.

Now you have to solve one puzzle before you obtain the coordinates of the cache.
Go to N 50° 47.(A-C)(2*(A+B+C+D+E+F+G+H+J+K)+8) E 006° 02.EFG
and read the instruction that you find in the plastic box hidden there.

***

You will reach your car by continuing to walk this path, keeping to the left in a few meters.
