This cache has been archived.

isht kinta: Since you have not responded to my reviewer log about your cache, nor did you post a note to your cache page telling me and others of your intention to address the issue with it, the cache has been archived.

Some time ago, I posted a note to your cache page requesting a response from you to post what you were planning to do with the cache on the page and to send me a note. I have no record of a response, and no response tells me that you are not planning on replacing or repairing this cache. If I am wrong with that assumption, please let me know promptly. I can always unarchive the cache for you if needed.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

The cache is a small cylindrical container located in the wooded area of the Forest MS rest area located on Interstate 20. It should prove to be an easy find.

The predecessor of this cache, "A Break in the Monotony...Eastbound", was placed by geocacher "naccarav" at this rest area. Its function, in addition to allowing for a smiley, was to give those people traveling along I-20 a chance to take a break from the monotony of endless pine trees. The Forest rest area underwent a couple of renovation and improvement projects beginning in 2009 and ending in 2011, so the cache was disabled. During this time the cache was eventually archived because the owner moved away and could not maintain it. Prior to its status change, it was a fairly active cache. Since rest areas make for great geocaching locations, I saw the necessity to place at least one here.

The cache is not difficult, but I have rated it a 2* because of the additional request found herein. I read a while back that some people get caught up in the number of caches that they find while many believe that geocaching should also, and more importantly, be more about the experience. I'm guilty of cache saturation placements because I do like padded stats, but this one has to be a little different.

Since you're obviously taking a rest stop, I'm tacking on an additional requirement to make it more interesting. Rather than receive a bunch of logs stating "TFTC!" or "Found on a quick trip. TFTC!", the cache log needs story. Tell me when and how you were introduced to geocaching. It doesn't have to be a novel, but I would like a few lines.

There is no night caching allowed at this location. In wet weather the ground could be a little slippery, so take caution. If you see any trash in the area, please pick it up and put it in the nearby receptacles. Also beware of muggles. Hide the cache better than you found it.

Happy hunting!
