8. Cowardly Lion Traditional Cache

This is the 8th one in the wizard of Oz series it's about 2 miles into the series. This one is a side trail off the loop as is the next one 9. the scarecrow after you grab them head back to the pond. This one was placed by Alexis she picked the Cowardly Lion becauce she has the courage of a lion. The Lion walks on his hind legs instead of all four, except when he is first seen bounding out of the forest to attack Dorothy's friends.
The Wizard of Oz series is in the Nipmuck State Forest in Union, Ct. This is a series of 17 caches, with a bonus cache at the end. You need to obtain all 17 caches to find the bonus cache. If you plan to do the whole series it will be about 5.5 miles, you can drive about a mile in to another parking area if you want to take a mile off the hike. If you do this series in order you will loop around the pond. There is a few side trails that you will have to take along the way. To get the bounce cache you will have to back track just a bit and take another side trail to a very nice spot. Some of the caches were placed with help from Alexis, Jordan and Shawn my great nieces and nephew. I hope you all enjoy the Land of Oz and the caches along the way.
