Geocache Description:

The Fairmont Helen's Run Railway was built between 1915 and 1916 and connected the town of Idamay to the B&O mainline near Chiefton. This branch was owned by the Western Maryland Railway Company. The Monongahela Valley Traction Company had trackage rights over this line between Idamay and Helen's Run Junction and ran a trolly service complete with overhead wires and all. The rail lines were removed in the 1980s and all that remains is the right-of-way and a few sections of trestles.

This cache is located just off of Rt 19 at the site of one of those trestles. The portion of the trestle that extended over Rt 19 is gone but the side sections remain.

!!!Use caution when attempting to retrieve this cache and be aware of your surroundings!!!

!!!!DO NOT ATTEMPT AT NIGHT!!!!

Billmik and I placed this cache along with my wife and kids so it is SOMEWHAT kid friendly but they must be watched and I take no responsibility for any injuries sustained while retrieving this cache. I hope you enjoy and please put the cache back the way you found it. Beware of muggles as portions of the hiding spot are visible to others. Do not log online unless you sign the paper log.

!!!!Oh yeah and did I mention, DO NOT ATTEMPT AT NIGHT!!!!
