Geocache Description:

I love old bluestone churches so was curious about the origins and current functions of this fine example.

Methodism was said to be introduced to Melton by the Rev. W. L. Blamires in 1862, and the foundation stone of the church was laid by Rev. Dr. Waugh on April 16, 1867. The Wesleyan Church closed in 1920. It later became the Masonic Hall, and the Djerriwarrh Scout troop has used it too, as their den. It is still owned by the Masonic Lodge but is used by other community groups, including the CWA who meet here on the second Thursday of the month at 12.30.

The cache is a small container in an easy hide. If the gate is open go in and have a look at the old church. You won't need to cross the fence to find the cache.
