A deep woods cache in Boxford State Forest(naturally).....
Boxwoods.......one of the largest tracks of forested land in eastern Mass. that has not changed in ages...This area has a terrain so diverse, from its saddled eskers to its ephemeral ponds, that there is no direct way to get from one end to the other CLEANLY... Note how I have emphasized CLEANLY for I have seen the "Sight and Go" approach (i.e.-Nashuan at Witchitai and Loch Cache at Bushstock) Then there's the vegetation in here which at times is so thick, this place seems almost prehistoric (or as Uncle Jimbo would say, "Creataceous") ...plus the tall pine canopy raises hell with both G.P.S. and cell phone reception religiously...And then there's the caches...Not a park "n" grab to be found for every hide in here is a minimal half mile trek...but well worth it for several of these would make my top ten list (think I need to create a bookmark)...Highlighting this area is Witchitai-To...a 7-8 mile multi that allows you to see nearly every aspect of this forest as you visit each waypoint...I didn't notice till I was nearly halfway through this cache that each waypoint was a unique nature viewing stand equipped with some sort of perch, be it wood, stone or both...As with the remaining waypoints (and several others I revisited), I would spend an hour or more waiting to see what would pass by(explains why it took me over a year to complete this cache)....During the time I spent out here I came across deer, fox, coyotes, The Lynch Three, fishers, otters, beaver, hares and a plethora of winged creatures that would require RobertaD or Yukionna to identify...(I'm not much of a bird person)...This cache was originally placed as a personal hide for Rexrider from my event prize distribution scheme with that same ideology in mind...a nice perch to sit and watch the woods go by(I just couldn't make a PnG for this guy)...Besides the two Bushstock events, I have only come across another human being(Tom) once on my travels which tells you how big and how remote this area truly is...Even though my smilies and my tracks show that I have been all over these woods, I still feel that there is a treehouse(favorite rock included) at the end of a peninsula overlooking some wetlands that I just haven't found.....YET.....
