Geocache Description:

GZ is on Rockfield Park property on the east side of Rockfield Manor. Approach via Rt. 22 and park on the Rockfield lot for easiest access. For the scenic route, approach via Ewing Street, park on the athletic field lot, and walk the path toward GZ.

This cache is a tribute to Sir Isaac Newton, 1642 – 1727, considered by many to be the most influential scientist who ever lived. He is best known for his work describing universal gravitation and the three laws of motion, but he also studied Earth's orbit. So in some ways his work paved the way for satellites, GPS systems, and Geocaching.

So why name a geocache site after Newton? Because without understanding Newton's principles, you would likely log a DNF! If geocaching was around in the 1600s, Newton might have hidden a cache like this. Think like Newton!

As you figure things out, please pay attention so you can remember how to set up for the next 'cacher.
The container holds small objects, trackables, and a logsheet.

GZ is within a circular wooded area, about 40 meters in diameter. Choose your entry point carefully to avoid the thorns, and try not to trailblaze to help keep the area looking untravelled. You may be at GZ longer than a typical park & grab, so bug spray may help keep the mosquitos away.

Use stealth, as the area is usually busy. The locals are bold, and if they see you off the beaten path they may question you. While placing this cache I was questioned several times and used the cover that I was setting up a land navigation course for boy scouts.

Plan to stay and visit the surrounding area, check out Rockfield Manor next door, and hike the path below the athletic fields eastward to the playground. The playground area has restrooms, a water fountain, a pavillion with picnic tables, and benches. Along the way you'll find two other caches: Rockfield Playyard and Rockfield Lowlands.
