Geocache Description:

A cache that takes you to a fun and educational hidden gem in Lanark County. * WTG John7777 on FTF *

Middleville is in the "Middle" of Lanark County. This area was once home to many pioneers in the area who hailed from Scotland. There are many incredible fences in close proximity that are made of wood, stone and machinery.
The community was first called Middleton because it was in the middle of Lanark county and almost exactly in the middle of it. When the post office was established here in 1853, the name was changed to Middleville.
Please take your time to see the attractions located in the vicinity of the cache. From here, you will learn many fun interesting facts and learn about the interesting and hard way of life for Lanark County Pioneers.
Also if the area adjacent to the cache is searched you will find a hidden working water pump. Please check out the Middleville Museum. Hours: Saturday and Sundays & Holiday Mondays 1-4pm, Victoria Day to Thanksgiving.
