Geocache Description:

This is an easy one and nothing special after all it is about the history lesson at the sign. It should be wheel chair accessible but I rated it a 1.5 due to the walk. Bring your own pen/pencil for this one.

When biking/hiking this trail you will cross active roads. Please be attentive and very careful while making these crossings.

There is NO access to the caches from the new Route 9 (divided highway).

Check out the bookmark list for more information on the bike trail. Hope you enjoy caching on this trail.

This is the first bike trail "Here's your sign:" This is a redo of the original #7 in the series.

The sign across the highway has the following: Built in 1751 by Peter Burr, cousin of Aaron Burr, on a grant of 480 acres from Lord Fairfax. The house is one of the state's oldest frame structures. It is a fine example of a mid-18th century Virginia family homestead which traces its origins to English yeoman home construction of the Elizabethan period. Sold in 1798 by Peter's son, the house was repurchased by the family in 1878.

However the sign at the new cache has much more information about the Peter Burr house. So check it out.
