Geocache Description:

This cache requires some easy bushwacking at Black Hawk State Historic Site.

Skeletons and spiders and bats, Oh my!
It's almost Halloween and scary things are in the air, and on the ground, and in the trees. Some of the caches in this Halloween series are not for the fainthearted, so BEWARE, you might be frightened by some of them!!

You can enter the woods from the sidewalk that goes between the two parking areas (one north and one south of Black Hawk Road where the overpass crosses the road) at waypoint N 41° 27.935 W 090° 34.542. There is a large downed tree - follow it east to the tree covered with fungus (be sure to get a good look at it - it's really neat!) - and continue east toward the tall (about 30 feet) bald trunk. Go a bit more east to find this cache.

Difficulty rating higher and directions given because of difficulty getting good coordinates in the woods and the possibility of losing your signal. Still some poison ivy, etc.

Permission to place caches in the park has been obtained from the Black Hawk State Historic Site.

Park safely, bring your own pen, and enjoy!

***Congratulations to Snarlco for FTF!***
