Geocache Description:

This multi stage puzzle cache takes you on a journey around the Katikati Town Centre. It is best done on foot. You will cross roads, vehicle crossings and carparks.

Katikati is famous for it's murals depicting the unique history of this proud little town. Take a trip around town to learn about the town's pioneers & early settlers.

An interpretive guide for the stories depicted in the murals can be obtained from the information centre /library but is not necessary to complete this geocache.

The cache contains several items, logbook and pencil. To find it you need to obtain co-ordinates for the second to last waypoint by answering questions on the town murals. Then substitute the answers in the code below. Take note of all the murals around you!

Second-to-last waypoint = S 37 degrees 33.ABC E 175 degrees 55.DEF

Start at S 37 degrees 33.351 E 175 degrees 55.033

F = How many Kauri trees at the south end of the park?

J = Divide the number of men wearing hats on mural #41 by 2

A = How many daughters did Pioneer Donald Macmillan have on Mural #18?

E = How many dogs shown on with Reverend Kattern's Ostriches? (Mural #8)

D = How many cars shown in the workshop at central motors (mural # 11)

H = How many papaka on the mural of Te Whanau a Tauwhao? (mural # 32)

B = Rendall Henderson, Katikati's first commercial Kiwifruit grower moved here in 195_?

G = How many toy soldiers in the Toy parade mural (#37)?

C = How many different types of hats did the Katikati sea scouts wear (mural #35)?

I = How many horses in the Katikati Post and Telegraph office mural (#16)

Once you have all your answers, go to the second to last waypoint at:

Find the last two digits for the final cache hidden at :
