Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk along the new extension to the Mangemangeroa walkway.

The popular Mangemangeroa walkway starts at the northern end from Shelly Park Slipway (Check out "East Ender" GC1CW1B)

It follows the coast south below the Sommerville Rd carpark then follows the creek up and under Whitford road to end up at Hayley's Lane.

Mangemangeroa means ‘valley of the Mangemange’, which is a twisting climbing fern used by Maori to tie raupo thatch to their manuka framed whares.

Track can be accessed from the end of Hayley's Lane (please park with consideration for the residents) or off Point View Drive (keep your eyes open - there's no sign) or from the main carpark at the south end of Somerville Rd. Please don't attempt to stop on Whitford Rd.
