Biblioteca Felipe González Marquez

La biblioteca Felipe González que está ubicada en la calle Torneo, junto a la antigua Torre de cambio de agujas de Renfe, ha sido recientemente inaugurada 24 de marzo de 2011. Cuenta con más de doscientos espacios para poder estudiar. Las instalaciones en un edificio nuevo, perfectamente preparado, con unas grandes cristaleras que dan al río (y completamente insonorizado), donde poder trabajar.
La biblioteca de Torneo cuenta con dos salas de estudio adaptadas para el uso de la comunidad universitaria y de las que también se podrá beneficiar el resto de la población, con una zona infantil compuesta por 25 puestos en la que Emasesa llevará a cabo su programa de educación ambiental y de uso responsable del agua, además de la zona de préstamos habitual en este tipo de equipamientos. El edificio está ubicado en una parcela de uso exclusivo como biblioteca, de los cuales 1.874, 53 metros cuadrados son de superficie construida y 1.656, 82 son de superficie útil. En principio contará con 4.194 títulos, cantidad que irá creciendo durante este año hasta alcanzar los 20.000 previstos. Además, el edificio completo estará dotado de zona wiffi y adaptado a las nuevas tecnologías con préstamo también de e-books y consulta por ordenador. En total, la biblioteca cuenta con 289 puestos. En las salas de estudio 224; en la sala de préstamos y consulta de adultos, 40 ; y en la sala infantil, 25.
