Geocache Description:

Cottonwood Valley east of Mt. Potosi. Bring your mountain bike on this one.

Take the Blue Diamond Exit off I-15 and head West toward Pahrump. You will soon pass the turn off for Blue Diamond and Red Rock Canyon. Continue several miles until you see a broad valley to the East of Mount Potosi. Look for a turn out to the left, and the parking area used by mountain bikers. There is a bulletin board and a toilet. Drive down the dirt road, while looking on the right for a double track leading to the mouth of a break in the formation to the west. The road deadends in a turnaround.

The cache is hidden quite well under rocks near a grey rock next to a large bush.

The cache was named after the Diamond Back Snake Patrol of Troop 649, Henderson, NV who hid the cache while camping one cold windy February evening.

This cache has recently been refurbished (March 2002) and the dented metal pop corn can was replaced with a clean kitty litter tub. Just pull up carefully on the lid and it will open eventually. Sorry no suckers in this one.
