Geocache Description:

Near the city's compost plant

Near the main gate to the city's compost facility on public right-of-way.

This compost facility went into full production in 1990. It was the first such plant in the Northwest. Biosolids from the city's wastewater treatment plant are mixed with wood chips, and placed in piles with air blown through them. After the piles heat up and cool down over 21 days, the piles are screened. The 1/4" minus product is aerated and cured for 30 days and is then ready for market. It is sold to nurseries and landscapers. The final compost has no restrictions and may be used for any horticultural application including vegetable gardens. After a city-wide contest the trademarked name of "Coeur d'Green" was chosen.

This a small cache with small trade goods. This is at elevation 2224 +/-.
