BETWEEN HELVICK & MINE

THE LOCATION
This traditional cache takes you to the Co Waterford Gaeltacht of An Rinn, or Ring. An Rinn, extends on a headland protruding eastwards to the south of Dungarvan Bay in West Waterford. The Irish college is nearby, a boarding school during school term, and throughout the summer, it runs courses "as gaeilge" for teenagers from around Ireland.
THE CACHE
The cache is a small tupperware box hidden under a combination of grassy overhangs and stones in a ditch on the trail. Parking is available at N52 02 691 W007 33 341. This is the start of the trail and it will not be evident as a trail, until you park up. If you prefer, about 200mts to the east of the trailhead thee is a layby where there is a stunning view of the Celtic Sea and Mine Head to the west.
Rain may cause the trail to be slippy and muddy so consider appropriate footwear for your visit. At no stage are you close to the edge of the cliff, it is family friendly, but i would not recommend it for buggies. It is not wheelchair accessable either.
The picture above shows the start of the trailhead, at the top of the picture close to the gate. Please have fun, sign log and replace like for like. There are a few more caches nearby to hunt down as well.
