The intersection just to the north of this cache site is home to the old Milford Township Consolidated School. This served as Nevada Community's 5th and 6th grade classrooms for many, many years. There are SO many stories to go along with this place.
The building was ancient when I was out here. When we got heavy rain or snow it would come in through cracks in the walls. A teacher lost a shoe through the floor one time. If you weren't careful, you could get shocked while taking a shower after gym class.
Fortunately, today's Nevada middle school-age students have a nice, new middle school to attend in town. As for the rest of us - we'll always have the Milfordian memories.
