Geocache Description:

Ready for something more challenging than a 2 minute cache? Park at 40 degrees, 40.549 minutes and –089 degrees, 30.080 minutes and let T. O. D. D. take you into the wilderness. Horses, dogs and mountain bikes are welcome on this park’s trails but the cache is not on a trail and only the dog won’t need help up the final climb.

While I rated this as difficult, 80% will be a pleasant stroll. However, the stream is too wide to jump and deep enough to get your ankles wet. Another creek needs crossing as well but is frozen solid during winter. The last tenth mile is bushwhacking a steep grade with every sort of wilderness plant on guard. There are at least two ways to avoid the creek without crossing private land, both are longer and more difficult than the straight on approach. Stay off private land! If you can't, don't hunt this cache!

Be sure to read up on using the backtrack feature on your GPSR. Start early, bring fresh batteries, a compass, and water. I’m thinking long pants would be a good idea as well.

The "Evil Grin" Park Ranger reminds you that the sides of the Dam are off limits. If you see him, stop and talk. He likes to see people enjoying this land.

Cache is an ammo can. Cache in, Trash out is very much appreciated.
