Imitation being the best form of flattery, a shout out to Calipers and düg and their Spooks Canyon series for providing the inspiration and plagiarism behind the cache name and description. A bit tricky to get to parking. Take Barham to La Moree to Coronado Hills Dr. to Washingtonia Dr. Stay on Washingtonia. When you get to a three way fork in the road at approximately N 33 06.774 W 117 09.164, take the middle fork. Stay to the left at the next fork and arrive at parking.
More often than not, the stories and legends that have arisen from Spooks Canyon describe the final moments taking place on the trail know as Death Spiral. The stories relate how the many unsuspecting victims have raced up this trail thinking they were headed straight to freedom only to find that in fact they have been going around and around and around to a pinnacle of no escape.
