Reteaua Coiba Mica - Coiba Mare este situata în
versantul drept al Vaii Gârdisoara, la 600 m în amonte de catunul
Casa de Piatra la altitudinea 1020 m. Constituind punctul de la
care începe drenajul subteran al Vaii Gârdisoara, Coiba Mica are o
intrare de numai 3 m înaltime dar de 20 m latime, în care stau
îngramadite numeroase trunchiuri de copaci. Dupa un parcurs de 25
m, apa cade într-o cascada de 12 m, dincolo de care formeaza doua
lacuri, lungi de 9-10 m, traverseaza Sala Mare (28 m lungime, 21 m
latime maxima si 12 m înaltime) si Sala Blocurilor (18 x 13 x 15 m)
si sfârseste prin a se pierde, prin sifonul care desparte cele doua
Coibe pe o lungime de 60 m. Dezvoltarea totala a pesterii este de
270 m. Resurgenta întregului drenaj subteran este reprezentata de
Izbucul Tauz, situat la o distanta aeriana de 2.600 m si la

Coiba Mica - Coiba Mare network is located in
the right side of Gârdisoara Valley, 600 m upstream of the Casa de
Piatra village at 1020 m altitude. As the starting point of the
underground drainage Gârdisoara Valley, Coiba Mica has an inflow of
only 3 m high by 20 m wide and where many tree trunks are piled.
After a journey of 25 m, the water falls into a waterfall of 12 m,
beyond which are formed two lakes of 9-10 m long. Then the water is
crossing the Great Hall (28 m length, maximum width 21 m and 12 m
height) and Hall of Blocks (18 x 13 x 15 m) and ends up losing
itself through the siphon that separates the two Coiba Caves. The
total development of the cave is 270 meters. The underground
drainage of the whole cave is revived at Izbucul Tauz located at a
distance of 2,600 m and at level difference of 170 m.
