Kostol postavili v prvej polovici 13. storocia ako jednolodovy so zapadnou vezou, tato romanska stavba, zasvatena Panne Marii, bola murovana z tehal a mala pravdepodobne polkruhovo uzavretu svatynu na vychodnej strane. Koncom 13. storocia prestavali vezu z kamenneho muriva a v 14. storoci postavili novu pravouhlu svatynu so sakristiou. V dosledku reformacie sa koncom 16. storocia farnici pridali ku kalvinom a odvtedy patri stavba reformovanej cirkvi. V 18. storoci kostol rozsirili o pristavanu lod na severnej strane a neskor k novemu severnemu vstupu postavili i predsien.
Od roku 2004 sa kostol postupne skuma a obnovuje: archeologicky vyskum odkryl ...., restauratorsky vyskum odkryl okrem romanskych okienok na juznej stene lode aj fragmenty stredovekej freskovej vymalby: ....

The church was erected in the first half of the 13th century with a nave and a western tower – this Romanesque building, consecrated to Virgin Mary, was built from bricks and probably ended with a semicircular presbytery from east. The tower was rebuilt from stone at the end of the 13th century and in the 14th century a new rectangular presbytery with a sacristy was built. After Reformation the parishioners joined the Calvinists and since then the church belongs to the Reformed Church. In the 18th century the building was enlarged by adding of a northern aisle and later an entrance hallway from the northern portal was completed.
Since 2004 the church is stepwise researched and restored: the archaeological research discovered ..., the restoration-research unveiled and conservated the Romanesque windows in the southern wall and fragments of medieval wall-painting decorations inside as well...
