Geocache Description:

In 1859 Captain Richards named Burgoyne Bay for Commander Hugh Talbot Burgoyne, an officer on the HMS GANGES. The Park, consisting of over 334 hectares has been established by Private Land Acquisition . Burgoyne Bay is the largest undeveloped bay and estuary left in the Southern Gulf Islands.

Hiking trails go through mixed Douglas Fir, Garry Oak and Arbutus Forest. In July 2010, the body of water touching the Park shores was named "The Salish Sea". There are live aboard houseboats as well as fishing and pleasure craft in the Bay. The cache is a camouflaged regular loc & loc box containing some cool items. No need to hike or bushwack. It should be an easy find. This is a favourite spot for many hikers and dog walkers. Please rehide carefully.
If you can stay to find the other caches located in Burgoyne Provincial Park.
