Emberton Country Park exists because gravel was extracted (quarried) from the site. The information board explains the geology on which the landscape sits, the Timeline Wall depicts the natural history of the Earth.

At the co-ordinates answer the following questions:
Study the Timeline wall to answer the following questions
1) At about 120 millions years you will see a group of fossils depicted on the wall, what type are they?
2) The start the Timeline Wall depicts the formation of the Earth, how long ago was this?
Study the Information Board to answer the following questions
3) How long ago was the European Continent formed?
4) How long ago was the start of the Jurassic period?
There are several large pieces of stone located close to and around the Timeline Wall, this local stone has been used by local craftsmen to build the wall and is commonly used for making coping stones, steps and arches etc.
5) What type of stone is it and why is it such a popular building material?
