Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden near the Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve.

Near the village of Fung Yuen is a butterfly reserve, run by the Tai Po Environmental Association. There is the Fung Yuen Nature and Culture Education Centre with general information about their work, and a butterfly garden - the actual reserve area. The reserve has many plant species specifically grown to attract varies species of butterfly.

The reserve can be visited, the fee for a one-day pass is HK$20 per person. Opening hours and other details can be found here: (visit link)

The cache is hidden outside the reserve area, about halfway the reserve and the education centre. Both are worth a visit, and your entry fee will help the organisation to their work. I'm not affiliated with them but like their work and have visited the butterfly reserve a few times.

Getting there:
- bus take 275, 275S, 73, 74K or 75K or minibus 20B, 20C or 20K (get off at Fung Yuen Road/Dai Fat Street) and walk about 20 minutes from there.
- take minibus 20A from Tai Po Market (departs at :00 and :30) to Fung Yuen village.
- take taxi to Fung Yuen village.
- by bicycle (there are bicycles for rent near Tai Po Market station).

Besides the butterfly reserve, this is also a good starting points for hikes towards Sha Lo Tung and from there to e.g. Hok Tau, Wong Leng and Pat Sin Leng or Cloudy Hill.
