Culvert Close Traditional Cache

CULVERT CLOSE

As the name suggests, this cache is located near to a small culvert on the public bridleway, Mashay/Marshy Lane.

This lane derives it's name from 'Marshy Wood' (now Mashay Wood) across the road. Marshy Wood is an ancient woodland which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and is approximate 22 acres big.

Mashay Lane joins onto Wakes Hall Lane which is a track which originally just went to Wakes Hall Farm but, now goes to a few houses and the old farm.
