In the car park to Dartmoor Zoo, Sparkwell
My 4 year old daughter has chosen this spot for a cache as she
loves coming here to see the animals. We have watched this zoo
expand and improve since the current owners took it over.
Formerly known as Dartmoor Wildlife Park, it had been opened in 1968 by Ellis Daw on farmland bought by his family in 1948.During a time of crisis, it was forced to close to the public on April 23, 2006.In August of that year, it was bought by the Mee family consisting of mother Amelia and brothers Ben and Duncan Mee, who reopened the zoo to the public in July 2007 after a major refurbishment. In 2007, it was the subject of a four part television documentary, entitled Ben's Zoo, which followed owner Benjamin Mee and other staff as they revamped the park for the 21st century. A film is also currently being made.
The cache has been placed within the boundary of the car park with
permission from the zoo. Please apply mega stealth when accompanied
by children and please watch for muggles as this is a busy place.
Why not go in and have a look around the zoo while you are
there.
A fun container appropriate to its location. Only a log to sign, you will need your own pen/pencil.
