Geocache Description:

A nano in a pretty little park close to the hectic Xujiahui shopping area and park. Paved path all the way. Daylight hours only.

Located on No. 2 Guangyuan Road in Shanghai, Hengshan Park is 10,855 square meters in size and was original built by French Municipal Council in August, 1925. The low-lying river channel on the north of the park was filled with 5000 tons of river mud taken from Xu Jia Hui River during the reconstruction. Then, a large meadow and a pavilion were built on the filled river channel with many trees. In May, 1926, the park was only opened to foreign visitors. Since it lay on Beidang Road (now Hengshan Road), it was called Beidang Park. It was renamed Hengshan Park in October, 1943.

Its landscaping remains in the original style with three century-old camphor trees. Two are planted on the west side of the gate, while one is in the woods in the east corner. There is a large meadow in the centre of the park with an area of 1000 square meters. Tall arbor trees, meadows, bushes and flowers form harmonious and delightful scenery.

Beware the Shanghai map offset that comes and goes. Waypoint on the map is not always the actual cache location.
