Geocache Description:

The Avon River runs through the town of Northam and is the central feature of the Avon Valley. The river is home to an abundance of birdlife - including ducks, pelicans and the famous WHITE SWANS of Northam.

This cache is located at the western end of the Dorntj Koorliny (Nyungar for 'walking together') walk trail. The trail starts at the Newcastle Rd Bridge/Northam Flour Mill and follows the Avon River West to Burlong Pool, an Aboriginal Heritage Listed Site. Learn about the plants and animals and the importance of the pool to the Nyungar People. If you're lucky you may see a freight train rumble past the cache as it crosses the bridge!

The cache is 1.3km west of the Newcastle Rd Bridge/Northam Flour Mill via the walk trail, but can also be accessed via Tankard st for an easier park and find. Which rock could it be in? (No need to disturb rocks).

A new cache has been created to replace the one that has been buried by a tonne of blue metal.

The coordinates have slightly changed.
It was 31° 39.742 E 116° 39.304 and it is now S 31° 39.739 E 116° 39.302.

You will need an extraction tool which can be purchased from Bunnings or Mitre 10 which can be added to your list of caching tools.

Enjoy the search!
