Kotsøy stasjon
Kotsøy (oppr. Kotsøien, frem til 1921) ble tatt i bruk som stoppested i 1890, etter at Singsås kommune søkte statsbanene om en stasjon eller stoppested i nedre del av kommunen. Stortinget hadde bevilget penger til stoppestedet på betingelse av at kommunen bygde bru over elva. Brua ble ferdig våren 1889. Kotsøy fikk status som stasjon i 1910, og var betjent til august 1975. Fra da ble det kun holdeplass på Kotsøy.
Meteorologisk Institutt i samarbeid med Jernbaneverket og Statens Vegvesen har også en offisiell målestasjon her. Denne ble tatt i bruk i 2007. Den er bygd oppe på lasterampa som tilhørte stasjonen. Etter at den var satt i drift, viste det seg at Kotsøy var på varmetoppen både i Trøndelag og på landsbasis. Dette har gjentatt seg hvert år siden den ble bygd.
Målinger siste 12 hele måneder: Høyeste temperatur var 29,0 grader (9. jun. 2011) og laveste -27,2 grader (25. des. 2010). Mest nedbør på ett døgn var 45,7 mm (23. jan. 2011). Største snødybde var 96 cm (30. mar. 2011).

Kotsøy (original name Kotsøien till 1921) was used as a train stop from 1890. Stortinget (the Norwegian Parliament) had promised to grant the necessary amount of money if the municipality would build a bridge across the river. The bridge was finished in the spring of 1889. Kotsøy was upgraded from train stop to station in 1910, and was manned till August 1975. From then on it has been a train stop only.
The national Meteorological Institute, in cooperation with Jernbaneverket and Statens Vegvesen, has an official temperature and rain gauge here. They started using it in 2007, and it’s placed on the loading platform that was part of the station earlier. As it turns out, Kotsøy has been on top of the temperature scale both in the Trøndelag region and in the country as a whole every year since.
