B.Y.O.Balls! Traditional Cache

The cache is a homemade micro. It is hidden in a location shared by Valdese's Centennial Park and Valdese's signature sports arena. DO NOT BEAT THE BUSHES! I DO NOT BELIEVE IN HIDES IN ORNAMENTAL SHRUBBERY. Nor is it hidden in, on, or under any of the walls in the area.
It's a park. It's a garden. It's a sports facility. Whatever! It's a great place to spend leisure time, read a book, listen to the birds, enjoy the scenery, learn about Valdese's heritage and heroes, play Valdese's traditional European ball game, or maybe just take a nap. I could have hidden a hundred caches here, I think, but I didn't. Use all your senses to enjoy your search!
The area is apt to be crowded during any of Valdese's frequent festivals and other special events. Even though it is next to Main Street, it is really quiet most of the rest of the time. Also keep in mind that it is located next to a large church. If you have a set of bocce balls, bring them for some great cover during your search.
I repeat: DO NOT SEARCH IN THE BUSHES OR FLOWERS. I DO NOT BELIEVE IN HIDES IN ORNAMENTAL SHRUBBERY. DO NOT BOTHER ANY OF THE WALLS IN THE AREA. THE CACHE IS NOT HIDDEN IN, ON, OR UNDER ANY OF THEM.
In addition to bocce balls, if you have them, bring something with which to sign the log and sign as small as possible. If the log is wet or running out of room, be sure to enter that in the online log so I can replace the log.
Note that this is a new hide a few yards from the location of the original cache that has gone missing.
