Crests of Kennisis Traditional Cache

The Crests of Kennisis is a 5km linear hiking trail within the Algonquin Highlands.The trail follows a ridgeline above the Kennisis River.
Hike takes in cliff top views as well as passes through a mixed coniferous\deciduous forest featuring Maple, Oak, White Pine and Ash trees.
Rocky outcrops feature prominently along this part of the Canadian Shield.
You can access the trail from 2 locations.
1st trailhead begins at the Historic Log Chute located at the Hawk Lake Dam. Dam is located along Big Hawk Lake Rd.
Parking is available 100m before the log chute.
Cross over the dam and start the climb up the river gorge to access the trail.
2nd trailhead begins at the Little Hawk Lake Parking area. At the trail head follow the Circuit of 5 Views trail .7km until you reach the trail junction with the Crests of Kennisis trail.
Follow the Crests of Kennisis trail until you reach the cache.
The Cache is located approximately half way between the two trailheads. About a 2.5 km hike from either end.
