You are seeking a uniquely disguised prescription pill bottle
hidden in the woods not terribly far off a short unmarked footpath
that loops off of and back onto the White Diamond Trail.
Coordinates should have a 16-foot accuracy. Keep your head and
remember to BYOP.
Absolute jaw-dropping beauty abounds in the Julington Durbin
Preserve. This cache requires a significant hike approximately
midway on the four mile White Diamond Loop Trail. The trail is well
defined with loose sand most of the way. You could hike the trail,
jog, bicycle, or horseback ride - just remember to bring plenty of
water and bug repellent! The area is located on a peninsula (2,006
acres) formed at the confluence of Julington and Durbin creeks, and
has approximately nine miles of shoreline along the two creeks. The
peninsula is a long sandy ridge that grades into floodplain swamp
and marsh along the creeks' shores. Natural communities consist of
sandhill along the higher areas near the center of the peninsula
and flatwoods at the lower elevations. The preserve contains
extensive floodplain wetlands, providing water quality and
floodplain protection for both creeks and the St. Johns River.
