Around this time our children are demanding sweets to keep them going.
This is Elliot’s first Geocache. He is only four and has now found three caches and is so hooked on it that he wanted one of his own.
Abbeyford Woods is one of his favourite walking places where he can ride his bike and play hide-and-seek with twin brothers Toby and Oliver
On the outskirts of Okehampton the walks through this beautiful wood lead you past majestic Douglas Fir trees, through areas of old beech and alongside the banks of the River Okement, and is therefore popular with local people.
From here, you can join the Tarka Trail, or explore for yourself the many unmarked tracks and trails.
Okehampton is the nearest town or village.
Travelling south along the A30 take the first exit to Okehampton town centre and turn right at the first set of traffic lights (signposted North Road Industrial Estate). Turn right at the T-junction, then first left and follow the road to the top of the hill where you will find the main Abbeyford car park.
