ksneed: It appears that a government official has moved in nearby making this spot no longer conducive for geocaching. The enhanced security will cause the boxes to keep disappearing and visitors to be watched closely. Sorry, the box that was there is gone, possibly taken by the new guards in the area. It was a great spot while it lasted.

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden in a quiet area of Nairobi along a roadside in a residential area. My friends live nearby. From the hilltop field across from the cache location you can see a pretty good view of the Ngong Hills. The cache is a small plastic container that can hold small items. Please bring a pen or pencil to sign the log. Be very careful of pedestrians, if they see you with the cache container, it may come up missing soon.

The Ngong Hills are peaks in a ridge along the Great Rift Valley, located southwest of Nairobi. The word "Ngong" is a Maasai word meaning "knuckles." This name was given because of the four peaks of the ridge, which stands out rising from the plain around Nairobi.

The cache is in a residential area of Nairobi but not in any estate or apartment complex. It is along the roadside in a quiet place with few people walking. However, there are people around so be very careful when finding this cache not to give away its location. We included a few Turkish coins from our recent trip there for the first few to find. We may add some trackables soon. The roads in the area are hilly and winding so be mindful if you are going in by foot.
