E-lo Wa-ya began the placement of caches that commuters could pick up on their way to or from work. He offered up that anyone could add to the series as they wished, so I have-- enjoy [;)]!!
Inspired by "Can You HEAR Me Now?" (visit link) this one at the Prairie View platform on Canadian National/Metra's North Central Line is for BearPack8's middle & little (or should that be Diddle & Mittle?) 'cubs', and everyone else who likes a good PnG. No need to pass the fence or go near the tracks.
Easy cycling distance west of the Des Plaines River Trail along IL22/Half Day Rd (not to mention, within striking distance of several other fun local caches!) Depending on your timing, plenty o' readily available parking for both 2 and/or 4 wheeled vehicles.
This particular rail line has survived numerous incarnations: Soo (single-track main!), converted to dual track main under local Wisconsin Central ownership, for present-day Metra Commuter Operation via auspices of CN, with the ONLY current suburban commuter rail platforms affiliated with Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, and has hosted several vintage steam excursions northward to Fon du Lac, WI.
