Stenbekk er et sted med en lang historie. Det er nevnt i skriftlige kilder allerede på 1300-tallet. Tidlig på 1700-tallet ble stedet lagt under Holleby gods. Det var både sag, mølle og frørenseri på området. I 1917 ble Stenbekk skilt fra Holleby gods igjen, og Carl Lindemann som da fikk stedet, solgte det snart videre.
I 1923 kjøpte Sarpsborg stedet og drev det som barnehjem til utpå 1960-tallet. Stedet ble i 1968 overtatt av Det Norske Misjonsselskap (NMS) som eier og driver stedet i dag. Det brukes nå til leire, kurs, konferanser, menighetsturer og andre aktiviteter for alle aldersgrupper. NMS U arrangerer leire her for barn i alle aldre. Det er også flere arrangement for voksne her gjennom av året. Det er nylig fullført ombygging av internatdelen. Stedet har store utearealer med mulighet for mange ulike aktiviteter.

Stenbekk is a place with a long history. It is mentioned in written sources already in the 1300s. Early in the 1700s it become a part of Holleby goods. It was both saw, mill and a seedfactory in the area. In 1917 Stenbekk separated from Holleby goods again, and Carl Lindemann who then got the place, sold it soon on.
In 1923 Sarpsborg bought it and ran an orphanage until the 1960s. The place was in 1968 taken over of the Norwegian Missionary Society (NMS), which owns and operates the site today. It is now used for camps, courses, conferences, church tours and other activities for all ages. NMS U organizes camps here for children of all ages. There are also several events for adults here throughout the year. It has recently been completed rebuilding of the dormitory section. The place has great outdoor space with the option of many different activities.
