Vampire's....Real.........or Myth?
The "existence" of Vampirism has dated back to 5000 B.C. in the Mediterranean. And through the centuries, reports have continued to surface of vampires among us Way back in the year 31 .. Jesus is said to have healed vampires at Capernaum.
Vampires have ruled the lands, posing as Emperors , barons and counts Royalty and bloodsucking.........interesting theory. In 1560, Elizabeth Bathory was born. During her life, she became known as the "Blood Queen", for her sadistic ritual of bathing in her victim's blood.
Perhaps histories most famous vampire was born through a work of fiction. In 1897, Bram Stoker's Dracula was born. Hang on.....how can something "dead" be born?. It wasn't an immediate literary success, and never reached iconic status until after the movie was made.
In 1931, Dracula (the movie) was released and it became an immediate sensation..spawning the horror movie industry. One of the movies greatest lines is when Dracula says "I never drink...wine". Spoken like a true bloodsucker
In 1964, vampires came to the small screen in "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family". Both series aired for two season's .
In 1976, Anne Rice released "Interview with a Vampire"...the first of the Vampire Chronicles series. 9 more novels followed, as well as 2 feature films.
Vampires have always been portayed as evil, vile creatures...the epitome of true unholiness. Granted immortality...yet forced to live in darkness or burn in the light of the sun.
Until the twilight series came along. That I won't touch upon as it has taken the vampiric myth and attempted to glorify it as something good, something yearned for.
Ask yourself this......do you believe that vampires truly walk the face of the earth?
Previous geochecker had 35 right, 169 wrong.
