Geocache Description:

Tumbleweed Corner

Welcome to my 93rd cache hide...

Found this spot on the way out to hide another cache called Abandoned Town. This would be a good one to do on the way, as it is the intersection you need to continue on in the direction of the first photo below to get to "Village of Tuppal". Ignore the "No Through Road" signs though, the road goes through.

So, this place was discovered on the way. I just liked the intersection, and looks nice and quiet. Tumbleweeds..... you ask, you will see when you get there. Also, I think i will be returning here with the telescope and deck chair to have a bit of a look at the sky. Pretty good horizons, about 20kms out of Tocumwal, and away from the Cobram direction, skies should be really dark out here for my Astronomy. So once again, I get to combine the two hobbies.

Now, onto the sign in the photo below. You won't see it at the cache location, it was a bit further back up the road, towards Tocumwal. Sign in the image below. It is a bit hard to read, so here is the writing:

DENILIQUIN PASTURES PROTECTION DISTRICT DROVERS OF WALKING STOCK MUST NOTIFY ENTRY TO RANGER

This would suggest to me that the whole area between the fences is a TSR (Travelling Stock Route - Crown Land). The road, if you follow it takes you about 15kms from Deniliquin, on a nice diagonal line from Tocumwal. Nice short cut. You will enjoy the the drive around this area.

The roads at the time of placing the cache were pretty smooth and dry, however, continuing on to "Village of Tuppal" the road could get very muddy in the wet. It just has that look about it.

The cache itslef is a 375ml plastic screw top jar. Should be nice and waterproof. Please hide as found. Initial contents are a logbook and some toy swaps for the kids.

As always with caches near roads, be careful, especially with the kiddies. As this is a rural cache, BE VERY WARY OF SNAKES. I have recommended this for kids, because it is easy to find and at their height, but with adult supervision at all times, just because of the potential snakes. Importantly, have fun.
