Geocache Description:

Another in our series of local moth species, a quick cache and dash. This is a small screw top container with just a log so please bring a pen/pencil.

The Merveille du Jour is a beautiful green and black moth that does live up to its name “Wonder of the Day”. It flies in the autumn and frequents woodland with plenty of oaks which is what the caterpillars feed on. The moth rests on the trunk of its host tree during the day and becomes active on warm nights.
