This is one in a series of caches entitled "Take a Hike". There are no puzzles, no multi's, no challenging hides in this series; instead, what they share in common is a good hike in the woods, enjoyable in any season.
I like this trail system so much that I decided to link together three "Take a Hike" caches in here: Salem Street Swamp, Salem Street Boulder, and Old Bay Circuit. You have a choice: you can do all three in one hike from one parking spot, if you are willing to risk a dam crossing. Otherwise you can split the three into two hikes, one from Salem Street and one from Berry Street.
The closest approach for this one is from Berry Street, and it is a very interesting hike. They rerouted the Bay Circuit Trail due to beaver-induced flooding; this cache is off the old trail. From the parking lot head to the soccer field; about 50 feet before you get to the field take a left (I constructed a stone cairn) and you will soon find the old trail. The white trail markers are still in place; follow the turns carefully. I find it fascinating to hike on a trail that is slowly being reclaimed by the forest; I came through here about five years ago and it is much more overgrown now. Enjoy your hike!
