Skeletons

Animal skeletons can sometime be spotted from Bernheim trails. Unlike human cemeteries the last resting place for a forest inhabitant is where it may have died or been carried off to by another forest creature.

Skeletons are a wonderful education tool to learn more about animals around us. By closely examining skeletons of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals you can see how they are similar and different from each other. Skeletal remains have been most valuable to scientist to identify now extinct life forms and to learn more about their life style while living and the environment they lived in. Keep a close eye out and maybe you might see some skeletons along the trail.

You are looking for a camouflaged PB jar hidden just off the Jackson-Yoe trail next to skeletons of a different sort.

This cache placement has been approved by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. There is a website available for more information about the forest including current operating hours. There is no admission fee at Bernheim on Monday through Friday. On Saturday & Sunday there is a $5 fee per passenger car, or motorcycle.
