Tuppal Canal


Welcome to my 94th cache hide...

Found this spot on the way back from hiding another cache called "Village of Tuppal". This would be a good one to do as part of a loop with "Tuppal School" after "Village of Tuppal". Couple of pics below, first looking east, second looking west along the canal. Third pic below is of a lone Murray Pine tree and an old unused water tank, which I thought made a great photo opportunity.





So, why a cache here. If you are familiar with my caches, you will know i have on called "Mulwala Canal Offtake". Well, the whole canal system, even this far from Mulwala, is part of the same canal system. Huge hey....! These canals are the life blood of the agriculture in the area, providing water for stock and irrigation to massive areas. Lots of water in here at the moment, because, there is lots of water in the Murray. Visit the link below for more information on the Mulwala Canal system and tributaries via my cache page.

Mulwala Canal Offtake






The cache itslef is a 600ml plastic screw top jar. Should be nice and waterproof. Please hide as found. Initial contents are a logbook and some toy swaps for the kids.


As always with caches near water and roads, be careful, especially with the kiddies. As this is a rural cache, BE VERY WARY OF SNAKES. THE GRASS HERE WAS LONG WHEN PLACING, SO I HAVE NOT RECOMMENDED IT FOR KIDS. Importantly, have fun.
