Years ago the Cass Avenue curve followed a path much closer to 35th Street and Cass Court. The present road replaced a pond on the Healy Estate where the horses pastured on the hill would come to drink.
This is a night cache with a chain of 7 reflective marker stages to follow. Start at the coordinates, shining your flashlight around until you see a reflective fire-tack. Standing within ten feet of that marker, repeat the operation. Some of the markers are on man-made objects so, to avoid confusion with non-cache reflective items associated with the roads, cache-related markers on man-made objects are a "dot-dash" pair with one round and one rectangular reflector. The cache is in the vicinity of the seventh fire-tack.
Please don't shine your flashlight in the windows of the homes lining the west side of the area. Also be mindful of shining your flashlight in the eyes of drivers on Cass Avenue.
This property is owned by the Westmont Park District but it has no facilities and no name (see "Open Space" on this map: http://www.westmont.il.gov/vertical/Sites/%7BB945AE37-DD18-44D5-97B5-392DDAAAF715%7D/uploads/%7B9EA2F55C-7740-421C-BC9B-8A03B4EDCE90%7D.PDF) ). Officially, Westmont neighborhood parks close at 9PM. I don't think this is exactly a neighborhood park, but use your discretion.
Thanks to RadioGirlK9TCD and Hubby for beta testing the cache. Congrats to GeoGil on the FTF!
