I just received an e-mail from an anonyomous geocacher indicating that he/she had placed a puzzle cache located at this set of coordinates. Whoa, that’s different huh!
Here’s the essence of the e-mail.
If you like puzzles caches so much, try and solve this why don’t you:
78’DC2/TAB87TDC32EOT
I’m guessing this is some kind of spoof authored by one of my many admirers who really likes me and puzzle caches (uh huh!!). A real character, I’m guessing, and probably a computer nut.
The problem is I’m in a quandary as to decrypting this enigma. I’ve tried using a number of off the shelf ciphers like: Affine, Homophonic, Bifid, Gronsfeld, Nilist and Atbash, Interrupted Key, Foursquare, Baconian, Playfair, but I’ve gotten nowhere trying to use these.
I’d like to know if there’s really a cache there and if I should be happy that someone who likes puzzles as much as me has placed it.
Or
That is all just a spoof and no one can solve and or find it.
Well if you feel like helping, get out your cipher pads and get working on cracking this thing.
He/she graciously provided a geochecker to let me bang my head against the wall.
Thanks, Col Mustard, and Happy Puzzling!
