Welcome to the Martinsburg Bike Trail - home to nearly 50 caches of all different sizes and types. You will find this isn't your typical cache trail. Great care and thought has went into placing some unique cache containers as well as what promises to be some memorable caches experiences. We promise you, you won't find any GRC's or LPC's on this trail. To keep you coming back, we are replacing some of our older caches with new ones like this one - Keep it Clean!!
Keep it Clean : Geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. This cache is a reminder to each of us, to do our part. As we bike the trail, let's all do our part to help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources! Cache In Trash Out doesn't just happen once a year. It can easily happen on every geocache adventure. Bring a trash bag along with you on your ride and pick up the occasional piece of trash you see on the trail. Even this small act can make a huge difference.
This cache is placed as a reminder to do your part. Plus, to serve as a reminder, its hid under a trash can.
So, grab your bike or walking shoes to access this fun series of caches along the WV 9 bike trail. The entire bike trail is about 10.5 miles long, or if you park here and do the entire trail if is about 21 miles. There are numerous parking spots along the trail. The entire trail is paved, and has gentle rolling hills. Pictures are posted on some of the caches to give you and idea of the terrain. This series of caches is located on the new bike path and is adjacent to the new and improved WV 9. Most of the caches in this series can only be accessed by walking or biking. No accessing from Route 9 - parking is ILLEGAL on Route 9. There is a fence separating Route 9 from the Bike Trail.
